Dear Devlog,

Just finished the storyboards to the cinematics. Now I just have to slap them together into a video file on Adobe Premiere for a temporary animatic.

I haven’t been keeping up on what I’ve been doing in the last month but I’ve been making a lot of progress daily so I’ll start logging that here when I remember (hopefully daily).

Tonight my goal will be finishing up these animatics and putting a short version of them into my current play file on Unity. Waiting for a full 30 second video every time I want to test a scene out has been getting annoying. I’ll use the full videos of these animatics for my first itch.io post of the game. Because of that, I’ll want to do decent sound design for them. I need a voice for the Sergeant role’s lines in the first chapter’s cinematic. I’ll see who’s available for that tonight… or I could just edit my voice to be a telephone style tiny voice. Either way, I’m gonna have to record after my roommates (who I love and adore very much) go to sleep to avoid noise pollution.

Tomorrow my goal will be to populate my first scene with furniture and props to explore and examine. I’m also not sure if I’m going about sound management in the best way so I may have to investigate ways to do that better. I do know that I want Melly Cue, our pickled protagonist, to make comments here and there throughout exploration. So far I’ve been developing the game as a first person shooter but I’m also wondering if I should do a third person, fixed camera approach like in classic Resident Evil games but I dunno… I’ve always liked the immersion of first person. Anyways those are my current thoughts on the project. I should get back to work on this. See ya!

Love,

MH
